There is no other person who ever lived righteously and influenced innumerable number of people significantly like our Lord Jesus. Christ’s visible influence in a believer’s life surely creates an impressive impact on others’ lives especially on the skeptics.
Every believer has a special role in making Christ’s influence visible to the public. In Acts 4:13, it is written, Now when they saw the boldness of Peter and John, and perceived that they were unlearned and ignorant men, they marvelled; and they took knowledge of them, that they had been with Jesus. (KJV)
We believe that the more we kneel down and commune with the Lord, the more power we get from God; and the more we yield our whole being to Him, the more we could exhibit His miraculous working through our lives and through our God-given ministries. Beyond doubt, the believer’s complete surrender to Christ will lead him to a victor’s life.
As we realize the importance and blessings of being influenced by the life of Christ, may we pray to God that our sanctified lives will also influence more people to put their trust in the Lord Jesus Christ.
(I) Being Seen Through A Believer’s Life
Acts 4:13
-Spirit-filled believer
Christ’s visible influence may be clearly seen in a Spirit-filled believer. It is true that we cannot deny who is influencing our lives. World-friendly people are undeniably influenced by the world while great servants of God are obviously influenced by the Lord Jesus. May Christ-likeness be seen through our lives so we may show the true image and power of God as we live in this unbelieving world.
(II) Being Seen Through Notable Miracles
Acts 4:15-16
-Believers are being used by the Lord
We must keep in mind that God can use believers as instruments in showing His notable miracles. In Acts 4:15-16, the Bible says, But when they had commanded them to go aside out of the council, they conferred among themselves, Saying, What shall we do to these men? for that indeed a notable miracle hath been done by them is manifest to all them that dwell in Jerusalem; and we cannot deny it. (KJV) These verses remind us of the undeniable working of God through His faithful servants.
May we not quench the working of the Holy Spirit in us, neither grieve Him, but let Him do mighty things through our ministries as we serve God in sincerity and in truth. Through the power of God, Christians can do unbelievable works.
(III) God Is Being Glorified
Acts 4:17-22
-Cannot be hindered
In Acts 4:20-21, it is written, For we cannot but speak the things which we have seen and heard. So when they had further threatened them, they let them go, finding nothing how they might punish them, because of the people: for all men glorified God for that which was done. (KJV) Certainly, the ministry of Christ-influenced believers can never be hindered, nor the due glory which many people will give to God.
As the world becomes more hopeless in its pursuit for global survival, Christians must be aware of their responsibility to shine for Christ so people may find their way to the Lord and Savior Jesus Christ which is the ultimate solution to man’s survival.
