The Illimitable Power Of God
Ephesians 3:14-21 IBCSWS March 12, 2006
Preacher: Pastor Jose B. Cabajar
The power of God is beyond the boundaries of limitations. God is all-powerful. The superiority of God is beyond human comprehension. He who questions His capability to do miracles will never experience God’s amazing working in his life. On the other hand, he who believes God’s unlimited power and willing to demonstrate His awesome working through his life will experience abundant life.
Believers through the ages have seen the miraculous works of God and have exalted Him greatly because He is worthy to be praised. In Psalm 113:3, it is written, From the rising of the sun unto the going down of the same the LORD's name is to be praised. (KJV) This important passage is a good reminder for God’s children not to neglect to give praises due unto God.
Usually, the people who often murmur and question God’s power are the same people who are not mindful of giving God’s due honor and glory. They tend to limit the power of the Lord. In Psalm 78:41-42, it is written, Yea, they turned back and tempted God, and limited the Holy One of Israel. They remembered not his hand, nor the day when he delivered them from the enemy. (KJV) Unthankful people are forgetful people.
When a person doubts the power of God, he actually underestimates and limits the ability of the Holy One. Unbelief displeases the Lord and makes a person powerless, but faith leads a believer to spiritual productiveness.
God wants believers to become His powerful witnesses. He wants us to be a part of His blessed mission in this dying world. As we witness for Christ and spread the Word of Truth, may we keep in mind that God’s power is unlimited and we could use it freely for His glory. In Ephesians 3:7, it is written, Whereof I was made a minister, according to the gift of the grace of God given unto me by the effectual working of his power. (KJV) Beyond doubt, the Apostle Paul’s powerful ministry was a result of his reliance on the illimitable power of God.
(I) Don’t Limit God’s Power
Psalm 78:41
-Don’t quench the working of the Spirit
I Thessalonians 5:19
-Grieve not the Spirit of God
Ephesians 4:30
Don’t limit the working of God, but rather experience and enjoy His unlimited power working in us and through our lives. We can’t imagine how great our works will be in the Lord if we truly yield ourselves to His perfect will. Never quench the Spirit nor grieve Him, but be obedient to the Word of God and show to the world how great our God is.
(II) Let God’s Power Work In Us
Ephesians 3:20
-It should be prayed for
-Let God’s marvelous working be displayed through our
lives
Through the power of God, Christians have the potential to do extraordinary things for God. However, it takes great faith to accomplish such things. We should keep in mind that God gave us countless opportunities to excel for His Name, and through His mighty power working in us, God-glorifying victories are always attainable.
We count it a blessing to know that God’s power is unlimited; we count it a privilege to realize that God wants us to be used by Him; we count it a great honor to know that He wants us to display His limitless power through our God-given task; and finally, we count it great joy to realize that we are sinners saved by grace serving the Living God and that we will be with Him forevermore.
