Quick And Amazing Change
Text: I Corinthians 15:51-58 IBCSWS November 5, 2006
Preacher: Pastor Jose B. Cabajar
Who doesn’t want a quick high-quality change? Definitely, everyone wants to experience quick advancement in their secular life: economic status, social image, and of course, even in their physical appearance. Some people want a quick start, a quick action and a quick result. Without doubt, the children of the world are looking for a quick solution to their existing problems and quick fulfillment of their earthly desires.
In the secular world, quick and progressive change is a great desire of goal-oriented individuals and that is an undeniable manifestation of their discontentment and cravings in life. It seems that every person in the secular world wants a quick growth, but how about Christians living in this passing world? Are they not interested and excited also to experience dramatic change in their spiritual life? Well, it should be the priority of every blood-bought and blood-washed believer.
In that blessed moment, Christians, whether they are aware of it or not, will experience a quick and amazing change. In I Corinthians 15:51-52, it is written, Behold, I shew you a mystery; We shall not all sleep, but we shall all be changed, In a moment, in the twinkling of an eye, at the last trump: for the trumpet shall sound, and the dead shall be raised incorruptible, and we shall be changed. (KJV) What an inconceivable act of God which will happen in the lives of true believers when Jesus comes.
A study of I Corinthians 15:51-58, could trigger our interest and excitement concerning the things to come, and it will surely help us also to be more aware of our true identity with our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. The more we know our God-given benefits and the countless blessings prepared for us, the more we will cherish our Christian life. Day by day, we can walk with the Lord victoriously over the world. Our communion with Him will become sweeter because we know He loves us so much.
(I) A Mystery Revealed
I Corinthians 15:51-57
-Concerning believers’ glorious change
· From death to eternal life
· From corruptibility to incorruptibility
· From mortality to immortality
· From humiliation to victory
(II) A Life-changing Hope
I Corinthians 15:58
-Makes the believers steadfast
-Makes the believers unmovable
-Makes the believers always abounding in the work of the Lord
-Makes the believers realize that their labor is not vain in the Lord
In I Corinthians 15:58, it is written, Therefore, my beloved brethren, be ye stedfast, unmoveable, always abounding in the work of the Lord, forasmuch as ye know that your labour is not in vain in the Lord. (KJV) Pondering all the benefits God has given us in this present life and beyond, it’s only proper for us to stay strong and faithful to God.
Sooner or later, the Lord will come. The Bible says, “In a moment, in the twinkling of an eye, at the last trump: for the trumpet shall sound, and the dead shall be raised incorruptible, and we shall be changed.” Truly, the best is yet to come to the believers, but how about the lost?
In Revelation 21:8, it is written, But the fearful, and unbelieving, and the abominable, and murderers, and whoremongers, and sorcerers, and idolaters, and all liars, shall have their part in the lake which burneth with fire and brimstone: which is the second death. (KJV) This passage reminds us what will happen to the lost if they neglect God’s great salvation. May we then give our utmost concern for the spreading of the Gospel so they may know the way of Truth and put their trust in the Living Savior, which is the Lord Jesus Christ.
